Bomber load, and Burning planes

Have the ability to manually pick your bomb load, in addition to the preset ones. for example. taking (2) 4k bombs in lancs, and nothing else.
Also, have the payloads set to maximum weight.
Like if you only take 25% fuel, you can use that extra carrying capacity to take more ord.
Maybe while your in the tower a chart would pop up with a list of the ord available for that type of bomber, and a little box that you could check, and a quantity selector, next to each bomb.
Maybe even have a xxxxlbs/xxxxlbs there too, showing how much you have / how much you can carry. This would include fuel. If you exceed your loadout capacity the list turns red.
I think it could make strategic bombing more fun..

When a plane catches fire, the pilot automatically bails in 5 seconds, maybe longer  for bombers.
I was in a semi-furball the other day, turnfighting a spit16. I get on the spit16's 6 and he starts running. I check my 6, and see a spit8 on my 6 about 2k back and closing , but knew a teamate was going to kill him..
The 16 breaks, and i abandon my pursuit to keep the spit9 straight.  Teamate turns spit into a roman candle, but he's still coming toward me. After about 10-15 seconds of burning, he's 400 back on me, so i had to break, but he gets a nice deflection shot and wastes me.
I didn't break sooner because i was low and slow, and wanted to extend a little, and "knew" that the spit would blow up.
I've done it too, so it's not one sided, just don't think it makes much sense.
A pilot blacks out when wounded, which is out of our hands.
A pilot should want to bail out when he knows his plane is going to blow up.

how about when a fighter catches fire, the pilot lets loose a blood-curdling scream. that should get those spittards to bail.

Have a burning sound file added, and make it rise in volume in the 5 seconds.
Right before the pilot bails have him say, "I'm outa here!!!"

....blood-curlding scream would work too though.  :rofl

You are aware that there are physical limits to both the size of the
bomb bay and the shackles to which ordnance can be attached right?
It's not like the bay is a big dumptruck-like area that bombs can be
poured into and out of.

I think he is referring to the fact that the B-17, for example, had a maximum payload of 17,600lbs of bombs, but in AH you can not get that much ord in it.  AH uses a "typical" historic loadout assuming you will go for a more historic fuel load.  But in the game, you usually don't need more than a 1/4 tank of gas to get anywhere, thus could theoretically carry more / heavier bombs.

Personally, I would have to disagree with upping the amount of ord carried.  If you want to mix and match bombs within the current maximums, I would vote for that.  But I would not like to see B-17s upping all the time with 17K worth of ord simply because fields are ahistorically close.
