Born and raised in a redneck backwoods town in Pennsylvania. My mom called me on the phone all excited when they got their first traffic signal last year.

Since then...lived in Stuttgart Germany 3 years, called a tent in Saudi/Iraq home for 8 months, Monterey Ca 2 years, Tacoma Wa 2 years, San Antonio Tx for 1 year, Honolulu Hi for past 2 years.

Plan on moving back to Washington state next year, probably Tacoma area. If I could manage it I would move back to Stuttgart, but 2 children later and it's kinda tough

MrFish I am actually pretty close to Aarhus

I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. Spent my entire life (22 years) here, apart from some months spread around Europe on vacation.

Born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire in 1978.

Lived just outside Barnsley, South Yorkshire until 1996.

Went to Grey College, University of Durham for four years until 2000.

Back home now and have job as Environmental Analyst. Job is good, but living at home sucks big style. Need to leave. ASAP. Can't live with parents anymore after being away for 4 years.

Would like to move to France and have a job there (might get chance if I apply for Graduate Training with Georgia Pacific).

I like French/Belgian women.

Jeez, Dowding, are you talking about the huge American multi-national enviroment rapers?

I'm surprised at you! Don't you know what those companies do in the "exploitation" field?

Georgia Pacific are the new owners of the company I work for.

How very ironic, eh?

Guess it doesn't matter - they'll do what Ford and GMC do - buy up profit making plants and then shut 'em down.

Not my first choice - I was planning to apply for officer training in the RAF. Unfortunately I had a some kind of fit last year (finals stress + lack fo food + lack of sleep + late night + computer screen = weird shaking on floor   ). Basically I was accepted for OASC after a couple of interviews (Officer Aircrew Selection Centre at RAF Cranwell), the medical officer down there took one look at my medical file and I was told I couldn't apply for 5 years!!!!   Even though all the diagnosis tests were negative on there been any epilepsy etc.

I'll be 27 by the time I can re-apply.

Aaah well, it was the only thing I really wanted - I guess these things are meant to be character building.

I might try and work for the government in some other way.

I was born in the Bitteroot Valley
In the early morning rain
Wild geese over the water
Headin' north and home again

Bringin' a warm wind from the south
Bringin' the first taste of the spring
My mother took me to her breast
And softly she did sing

Oh Montana, give this child a home
Give him the love of a good family
And a woman of his own
Give him a fire in his heart
Give him a light in his eyes
Give him the wild wind for a brother
And the wild Montana Skies

My mother died that summer
And I never learned to cry
I never knew my father
And I never did ask why

I never knew the answers
That would make an easy way
But I learned to know the wilderness
And to be a man that way

My mother's brother took me in
To his family and his home
Gave me a hand that I could lean on
And a strength to call my own

And I learned to be a farmer
And I learned to love the land
And I learned to read the seasons
And I learned to make a stand

On the eve of my 2lst birthday
I set out on my own
I was 30 years and runnin'
When I found my way back home

Ridin' a storm across the mountains
And an aching in my heart
Said "I came to turn the pages
And to make a brand new start"

Now I never told a story
Of the time that I was gone
Some say I was a lawyer
Some say I was a John

There was somethin' in the city
That I said I couldn't breathe
And there was somethin' in the country
That I said I couldn't leave

Now some say I am crazy
And they'll be glad when I am gone
But some of them might miss me
And they'll try to carry on

Giving a voice to the forest
Giving a voice to the dawn
Giving a voice to the wilderness
And the land that I lived on.
