On the episode about AA they stated that 5% of people that quit cold turkey are able too.  They then said that 5% of people that go to AA are able too.  They then concluded people might as well quit cold turkey and not bother with AA.

But they are missing the qualitative difference between people that quite cold turkey and those that are in AA.  AA is for people that have tried to quit cold turkey, probably many times but found that they can't.  So as far as stats are concerned their probably isn't much overlap.

thrawn... not so much missrepresented I think as.... wrong..  If 5% quit cold turkey and 5% of those who couldn't quit on their own quit after AA...

Then it is just their math that is off in that the two combined would equal 10% who were saved by combining the two methods.

The gun control show is simple common sense with no math involved

That's what I was thinking, but you said it with more clarity.

I was in AA for a good ten years when it was worthwhile..

since the government has been involved it is.... sadly... allmost worthless now... it is the butt of jokes and ridicule... this was never so when it was an organization that had no affiliation with the government.

Same for habitat for humanity... the government is a huge anti success story in everything they throw our money at... incompetent and criminal boobs...

They need to succeed so they leach onto successful private and charitable programs and destroy them in the process.

sad really... and all too predictible.... too bad most of the little socialist musheads can't see it.
