A fresh placenta, 'grilled, with beans and served with an excellent Chianti' shouldn't taste too bad.

I bet that even the scientology bosses are embarrassed by TC :aok

Debonair, there is a Thomas Cruise  listed on the FAA website.  I know of one or two Tom Cruises out there but it could easily be him.

As for acting being hard work. I know from experience that apart from my time soldiering, working on movies and TV sets were the coldest, most tiring and longest days ever and I'm not even an actor! It is hard work even if the big stars are overpaid for it. Remember too, the only the top end guys get the big money. Most actors work the long hours too but survive on lousy money.

There is one difference, working on movies is fun and satisfying. Something which could hardly be said for my current job.

As for Cruise, his antics lately are a bit mad. Someone in a newpaper article half jokingly suggested he was actually trying to discredit Scientology. That in actual fact he was a spy for the Catholic church.  :rofl

I would be impressed if he was flying solo.  Any rich guy can buy a P51 and pay someone to babysit them in it.  Ho hum.

Cruse is a Kook, thats for sure, and I will admit I am jealus a bit that he makes enough to own a P-51.

If any one of you got rich and bought one though a percentage here would hate you for it. Thats just life.

I don't hate the guy, I just wish he would stop acting like a nut so I dont have to hear him qouted anymore.

I hope he does not kill himslef in his flying history machine though.

As AHBB keeper of odd religious knowledge it is my duty to tell you that Tom Cruise is a Scientologist. A Science Fiction Mystery Cult invented in 1952 by Science Fiction Author L. Ron Hubbard based on his book Dianetics. (please note I am not making the following up) Scientologists believe that their quest is to remove the harmful engrams that have been encoded in past lives in order to become a "clear" or "operating Thetan" who is no longer the slave of his reactive mind. Our engram problem is largely the result of Incident 2 which occurred 75 million years ago when the Emperor of the Galactic Federation, Xenu, transported his surplus population to the earth in spacecraft that looked exactly like the DC-8 and placed them in Volcanoes which he then blew up with Atomic bombs. Having created millions of disembodied spirits (Thetans) he captured them with an electronic device and enslaved them with harmful engrams. These engrams manifest themselves in harmful behaviors and conditions like drug-addiction or asthma. Only the church of Scientology using e-meters and hidden wisdom can free us from bondage to these engrams. All it will take is lots and lots of lovely money which men like John Travolta and Tom Cruise appear to have in abundance.

Madonna on the other hand, is into Kabbalism, or actually a variety of Kabbalism taught at the Los Angeles Kabbalah Center by Philip Berg. Kabbalah was a mystical offshoot of Judaism with origins in Medieval Spain, it  wed numerology to a gnostic method of reading the Torah which assumed that the actual meaning of the text was locked or encoded within it, and that numerology provided the key to finding God's real message. As one grew more proficient in this decoding, one grew in power, enlightenment and wisdom. In the 19th century many European "new age" (this is the age of Aquarius) magical societies such as the Golden Dawn began incorporating elements of Kabbalah into their own practices. Berg's center incorporates many new age practices into Kabbalism, and in fact his Kabbalism is less Jewish than simply new age gnosticism. Once again, you need the help of the center to reach true enlightenment, and the key to getting that help is once again, lovely, lovely money and for some reason we keep giving money to Madonna.

Money apparently can't buy you love, but it can buy you "englightenment" and P-51s.

Hope this helps.

if you look closely at the pics, theres a backseat and an instrustor or someone like that in the seat. I wonder how they made enough room for a backseat, tom cruise is pretty small though :)

There are a ton of p-51s with backseats. Lots of people who restore them have a seat added.

I have seen quite a few 51s that have had a small back seats added (no controls). It does not look like this plane would have dual control as in planes like "Crazy Horse".

I met met tom cruise about 5-6 years ago when i was a doorman in manhattan. He was visiting speilburg, i guess to discuss a movie. He was a very friendly, ordinary guy, didn't have any ego, and seemed like the type of person you could have a beer and shoot the watermelon with.
Him and bruce willis, and woody harrilson were the coolest stars i met.
