Any Germans out there that know of such youth?  I would venture to guess its the exception, not the rule..

Very easy to understand.
The eastern part of Germany has a much higher unemployment rate than the western part. also you get less money if you work in the eastern part (should be solved end of next year)
In some areas you reach 20% of people without a work. The frustration is always focussed on the weakest group in society, so its "normal" you get much more criminal acts there.
Also the media in Germany misused asylants and foreigners for a long time as painting them as criminals or job stealers. Now we have years of high unemployment rates and nothing changes. The longer this goes on the more people will choose the "easy" solution and trying to solve their frustrations with beating weaker groups in society.
Sad but "normal" in our western societies.

post ww1 german economy was in  the crapper he turned it around
unfortunatley he had to find a scape goat to place the responsibility for all the problems on .

They did not ask whether Hitler's regime was good, they asked whether "it had a good side".

It had plenty of good sides - otherwise he would not have been elected democratically in a country with highest educational level.

It is just not politically correct (in US at least) to admit anything but bad about any negative figure/event in history. That is why instead of analyzing why such atrocities came to be, people just think it was an abberation  of a "crasy maniac" or such crap and boldly go forward towards the next one...

There are plenty of Hitler-admiring people in Russia, of all places! What do you think of that?
