Some people act like America's some shining knight that always does what's right and comes to save the old world while Europe bickers this way and that.
I hope it's realized that our Greatest Generation had next to no inclination to go into WW2 until they themselves were directly attacked. And that Europeans had been fighting and dying to preserve freedom for a good two years prior. That in the case of the British and French , they were fighting before they were directly attacked (though the writing was on the wall).
One might bring up "Sitzkrieg." I mark this down as an error of strategic judgement. Wrong lessons learned from WW1.
Don't get me wrong, I too would like to see the Europeans more actively involved militarily in the Middle East, but it just strikes me as haughty nationalism to imply that they are incapable, or even historically non-inclined, to do so. They just often need more pressing evidence, is all...
