My Auto Climb Keeps Shutting Off?
« on: April 24, 2006, 11:12:53 AM »
hi everyone,

Last night was first time flying AH2 in a year,. I played aces high for years and used auto climb no problem:  even auto take off.

althogth i think i think i fixed the auto take off problem by putting more deadstick in the jstick settings, but my auto climb is not working. very very very intermitantly. I read another post that said u have to be a planes optimal climb speed or ah 2 automaticall turns it off.

Is this the pproblem? Is obviously not just like aces high. Id just like to know what u have to do to use the Auto Climb??

Is it based on speed? or what????? if so, can someone tell what's the best speed for the HOG? or any Corsair planes.

I always flew mustangs (100%), but starting to learn carrier planes, now.

Anyway let me know whats the problem with my auto climb

I had a similar problem this week. Not just with autoclimb but auto anything. Recalibrating my stick fixed it.

recalibrate your stick. all of the autopilots are turned on by pressing the key, you dont need to do anything other than that. i think it may be that your stick is spiking and taking the autopilot off:)

try that, and see if it works:aok

pooface and target2,

thanks for the quick reply. yeah i was afraid of that.) I used to have all those j stick settings just right, but now im starting over.

when i play with dead band and damping in SETTINGS  im suppose to see a straight line. right? that means theres no spiking, right? Its been a while since i messed with all that.

Right.

Dead band: add as little as possible, as much as neccessary: the lines should be all straight and if stick is centered all over each other in the middle of the box.

If they are straight, but dont overlay you need to recalibrate stick as your center is off.

Damping: makes the control a bit less responsive and more smooth. I personally like it touchy and all the way down, but youll have to find your own personal preferences on that.

Be sure to calibrate in Windows first before you calibrate in AH2 or mess with your settings.

Start> Control Panel> Game Controllers>
