or almost legal in Mexico to have in your possesion ......................

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,193616,00.html

requires a Presidential signature and then it's legal.
It's been said we have three brains, one cobbled on top of the next. The stem is first, the reptilian brain; then the mammalian cerebellum; finally the over developed cerebral cortex.  They don't work together in awfully good harmony - hence ax murders, mobs, and socialism.

Hmmmm. maybe all the drug addicts will now immigrate to Mexico.

Might not be a bad tradeoff.

Plus we could start exporting all the dope we grow here.
could be our next economical boom.

How much Grow Bulbs going for these day? LOL

Nope, I like the lights on.

5 grams of marijuana (about one-fifth of an ounce, or about five joints) says the article.

5 grams?, heck even uber alles kalifornia allows more.

11357 H&S says:...

Except as authorized by law, every person who possesses not
more than 28.5 grams of marijuana
, other than concentrated cannabis, is guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars ($100).

The rule is "personal use", if you have 28.5 Grams packaged for sales, thats a felony... otherwise its like a traffic ticket you can pay by mail.

Any small amount of a "white powdery substance resembling cocaine", even if its Meth or some other white dope... is a straight felony in Ca. I believe in Nevada however, ANY amount of weed is a felony... unless thats changed..

Good for Mexico, I say. What better place than our 3rd world neighbor to test the "legalize drugs" theory? I am all for it because I can tell you from personal front line experience, the 'war' on drugs here in the US is a total failure. For every dealer I put in jail, 3 more were waiting to take his place...

All DARE does it teach kids at an early age which drugs are popular. I had one kid tell me his dad drinks and beats up mom, but his toker uncle smokes and watches tv.. never laying a hand on his esposa. His drinking friends got into fights, his stoner friends chilled. From there it was impossible for me to tell him "weed is evil", his life experiences says otherwise...

When kids asked me if weed felt good, I had to lie and pretend laughing, munching and euphoria were "bad"... "go drink a can of Budweiser courage kid and get in a fight instead, eh?"

TJ is a giant poop hole, I can easily see investors putting $$ into making it an 'Amsterdam south' with hip coffee shops and all that... just hours from millions of college kids & consenting adults.

You're the first cop I've ever "met" who would actually admit to much of this...  WTG Sir! :aok

Way I see it, as long as you aren't driving, or peddling it to minors, or smoking it inside a public building, what's the harm?  To society I mean?  That's not already covered by MTV, cigarettes, or alcohol?  I can't think of much.

And the next time some politician says marijuana funds terrorism, I'm going to ask him when he plans on invading Vermont.

FYI though - Your figures are a little odd...  If you're only getting one joint per gram, you're wasting your money.  One gram should get you about 2-3 personal-sized joints ("pinners" around here).  More than enough to get two people high if they don't do it every day.

It aint just the dealers.
If you live anywhere but a rural area I'd be willing to bet almost any amount of money that within a 5 block radius of your house there is at least 1 person growing in their basement better dope then anything crossing the boarder.

Obviously with a rural area that range may be a little farther. In the cities its even more concentrated.

Some may be dealing it. but most are keeping it for themselves and maybe a small circle of friends.
But trust me. they are there.

This whole situation must suck for you cause it must be like trying to dig your way from the bottom of a sand dune and the more you try to dig up the more sand comes down.

Then your even forced to bust someone for some small  minute amount giving them a record that could have long lasting and unforseen effects for the rest of their lives.

I feel bad for you cause you are in a war you have no hope of winning
