Yeah, not a lot of hits...

For a heavy loss...

Sorry, just had to do that :)
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

Unfortunately there was basically little to no co-ordination on the part of the Axis, mostly due to vox issues.

For some reason some of the mission could hear my squaddie and I, but we couldn't hear them.  Then my squaddie and I got separated after upping early (not sure how or why that happened) so I joined up with Batfink and his wingman.

First pass on the bombers...my engine got hit.

Re-upped...second pass on the bombers I was shot down.

:(

It seemed that the bombers didn't have dedicated gunners.  Despite the fact that they made it to target they hardly did any damage.  This was likey due to the fact that they were being harassed by our fighters the whole way in.  It is pretty tough to gun and calibrate at the same time as well as trying keep the bombers at the same speed and alt.

I think the bombers did extremely well as a result.

Possible Reasons for Failure

First off let me say, our escort did everything they could to get us there. We could ask for no better.

1. Only 7 bomber pilots joined the mission.

2. I'd only flown with a couple of them before.
3. Those who were communicating through vox or even text were all disco'd before we got feet wet.

4. The fighters did harrass us, and a couple of us had gunners so we were able to maintain somewhat of a formation. Those without seemed to veer off course due to rudder while gunning problems.

5. My biggest problem was the calibration. Lately I cannot calibrate at all. It must be my stick. I used to be able to do it with no more difficulty than the MA. Now it shows me going backwards, or sets my speed at 19 mph, or 1100 mph like last night. I just couldnt do it. Not one of my bombs hit the target. Some guys did hit though.

6. Having our escort fight alot of the enemy twice is alot to handle. Im thinking next time since the axis can reup and even at 20k easily re-engage the bombers, we should try for a larger escort force. At the heat of battle last night there were 26 allied and 28 axis flying. With about 5 of us at that time in bombers, the escort was not only outnumbered, but faced re-ups. Thats how good the 4th FG guys and compamy did, to allow us to even get to target.

7. Most of all, we need a larger bombing force. Especially for deep runs into enemy airspace.

IMO opinion  I think axis were outnumbered at the beggining of the mission....  My job was to lead the intercept escort.... we were in G2's and we only had 3 planes...  Since we were the first to see ENM's  we were outnumbered pretty bad.... It was like 8 jugs to 3 G2's..and one of my G2's got dicoed so it was really 8 on 2...  but anyway we managed to weave our way around P'47's raining lead upon us and I managed to get two but the third one managed to tear me a new one jus as i had finished shooting another one down.....

By the way Im not looking foward to future intercept missions if there are going to be Hordes of typhy tikes as the typhy was just enabled last night...

That's because you used Platano as a human shield . . .

j/k :lol

I got on late -- sorry I missed most of the action.  I managed to catch up to an egressing secondary raid of B-26s as they approached the English coast (perhaps those you referred to as disco'd earlier).  But, I was alone, by that time almost out of fuel (having climbed to meet the last disintegrating B-17 before hand), and they were on the deck.  So, I just came almost straight in as there was no time to set up a proper attack.  I reached the rear box, let go of litterally ALL my ammo . . . and got a "You have been killed - Jester shot you down" as a result.

Jester did admit on 200 that the fire on his lead bomber was starting to get overly warm.:)

Filth; Great Mission; even with as few as were available!

I got 13 buildings with 2 Bombers; lost 1 on the way in and the other 2 on the way out.

Count me in on the next one if I can make it.
