It's funked's. Bidding is over.   ;)

Yes, I did try 1.30. It just isn't going to happen for me. I am trying not to knock it, just simply couldn't see throwing it up on my shelf when there might be someone out there willing to try it.

Maybe he will like it, maybe he won't, but at least he will have tried it and seen for himself. The Rats get $10 on a legal copy, so no harm done. I can't see any losers here.

The new terrain looks good but I think most must lie about there fps. How can a frikken game go from 60 to 18 to 45 to 32 to 20 fps?
and even if you are getting good fps the only air battles involve some warpin dweebs.

Dudes over there not only spent 40 fer the piece o'shite then went out and spent all kinda money to get systems fixed to play it then realize the gameplay ain't really that good. Tell um it sux and they act like you spit on there mother.

In ah steady 60 fps (maybe a pike or two)
with my g3 set at high quality and fsaa at 4.

in wb3 even i get 120fps lowest about 70.

It has definately improved but still isn't worth the hassle even at its best.

Damn! Day late and a dollar short, as usual  :(

Oh, well. It has to hit the $5 software bin sooner or later.

Already got one thanks. It's how I've been able to stay abreast of how it's development has gone and it's basic playability on my systems. 1.30 regained the 30% loss of FPS that the last patch brought upon me. Now I'm back to a whopping 28fps in flight all on my lonesome. Hate to see what it would be in online combat. I was fortunate in that I got my copy without being all the poorer for it by getting soaked for that $40-plus by Conniving Rodent Shaftware.

You may want to hold onto it because there's always that continually absent but ever-loitering "potential" still. "Just wait for next year" as we Boston Red Sox fans say and maybe they can pull a magical rat out of that hat in spite of themselves.

Played it a bit over the last week. A few same old bugs and annoying 'features'.

1) Random sound loss
2) Large discrepancy between visual and audio events
3) Weedy sounding engines for most of the planes (liked the 110 sound though).
4) Huge variations in FPS
5) Video freezes when flying near other people, in the air or on the ground
6) No reload animation or sound for any of the infantry weapons - no ammo status device in HUD
7) No resource system to target
8) No infantry machine guns.

I like the infantry/tanking aspect, however, now spawn limits are in. But not enough to pay for a subscription at any price... yet.

I can't say I wouldn't like of WWII OL..  it is more entertaining for me than AH.
You actually have to do something to shoot down the enemy, instead of just locking up with lasers at ~600 meters and spray the bug.

Tank combat fun too, especially now when AT-guns has more possibilities. (though, Pak 36 vs. 6 Chars, 1 A13 and 1 R35.. zzzz)

In any case, it is first of its kind and best so far.. or is there any other MMOG's with similar theme?
Warbirds and Aces High are purely flight sims where GV's have been included with paper&scissors method.
Then theres few tank games that doesn't offer any big enviroment and purely just tanks.

so.. I like it entertaining.
sorry, no whiney brat can change my mind..  :)

(rants rants.. who was the dumb that decided to remove kneeling, who porked those troops to some rambos that takes 4 hits before KIA, why theres so *rare* blenheims and stukas, why 109 is so rare and why so many chars and just few R35s..)

Voss-

Creamo offered his copy up for postage. Mail him and get it.

Funked-

It's on the way. You should have it Monday. I included my login and password in the box.

Fishu-

Simple question: will 7.92 MG fire disable a real tank turret cannon? A simple "yes" or "no", please.   ;)

I like the combat, don't get me wrong. But the guys who mentioned screen freezes and uneven fps aren't lying one bit. It's a big deal to some, not a big deal to others, you decide. Funked may wind up mad at me for costing him $10. I guess he can look at it like I saved him $30.  ;)

For me it's the whole package that makes a great game. While graphics can be basic, as long as they are functional, I don't care.

I can't say that about WW2OL. To me there are still show stopping issues which stop me enjoying WW2OL as described on the box.

And, BTW, my system isn't that modest. 1.2 GHz T-bird, 512 Mb CAS2 Crucial ram, Prophet II Pro 64 (Geforce2 64 mb DDR RAM) and a 7200 rpm HD.

Fishu - I've played both sides over the last few days, and I don't see the picture you're describing. For one thing there always seems to be more axis players than allied. Secondly, most of the defending I've done as allied has been against a load of panzers with nothing more than either infantry or that r34 excuse for a tank.

Comparing the flight aspect of WW2OL to AH is a joke. Fully loaded Stukas turn fighting spits and hurricanes? I'm no expert, but that does seem a bit 'off'. The video freezes makes hitting anything very tough and you can't modify your convergeance or turn your tracers off. I can't seem to find a stick set-up section within the program either to adjust damping, dead-zone etc.

I'll check it out again in another 3 months to see how its improved.

Some get it, some don't.  Too sad for you that don't.
