I've got a question:

How is it these guys that seem to warp when people have gun solutions on them never have a score, and after they're filmed, you never see their name again on the roster.  I know they're wiggling their cables or whatever it is that allows them to do that, but...

Isn't there a way to weed these guys out.  I can't tell you how frustrated they make me.  I'd ignore them, but they'll still try and kill you...

Stoney, anyone with deliberate attempts to circumvent game rules (ie cheating) is expelled forever. Even talking about ways to cheat can get you banned from the BBS and the game...so lets not do that here, ok?

That being said, there havfe only been 2-3 know examples of true game manipulation in the history of AH.

Most every time you think someone is "cable pulling", its coming from a bad connection either on your end or on there end. Last time I saw 200 chatter about a "terrible cable puller" it turned out he had satellite internet connection, one of the warpiest types around.

So odds are that the one you thoght was pulling was just playing. Its part of the game when internet is less than 100% reliable all over the world. And, if you ave a fix for that, you'll never have to work again

The other night some guy in a 109 seemed to be experimenting with 'inducing lag' and the game was nice enough to make his plane come to a dead halt in the sky on two occasions allowing me to blow him up really nice.  Killed the same guy twice within 10 minutes....

But, you never know, maybe he is on a bad server in a flooded garage on Venus and his connex is maybe really that bad...

Or, maybe he's dead.

Either way, its a scalp in my bag... screw him.

Cheating here is very very rare.  Been here a long time and know of two occaisions when occured.

More then likely when someone warps or disappears it's the connection.  The WEB is a funny place and is affected by weather, malfunctioning Routers and so on.  So before anyone accuses someone of cheating I think it wise to remember the WEB isn't consistant.  Very good somedays, good others and a complete fubar on others.

In massive online gaming we are at the mercy of our connections and HTC has done more then anyone I can remember to ensure ours is the best.  That being said HTC can only do so much about connections.  Routes etc. depend upon where we connect from and how we get to the HTC Server.

We God help us are at the Mercy of our connections.

Hey!  Anyone know of a Virgin we can sacrifice to the WEB Godz?

Might help!  :aok

Are squeeky range vox transmissions an indication of virginity? If so...I have a few candidates.

Multiple reasons i can think of:

First, when icon distance changes between over 400 and 400, the level of detail displayed for the enemy aircraft is increased. This might be cause if a "performance hickup" on your end.

I had that happen to me once. Every time i fired my guns, the guy would warp. Turned out it was a sound driver/accelleration problem.

Besides, if someone is warping a little at further distances, you dont notice that as much as when the guy is 200 in front of your nose. Farther out, its either not really displayed (plane positions and headings arent updated as often as they arae for close planes) or you just dont SEE it.

And last but not least: Humans tend to have a better memory for the bad stuff happening then they have for the good things. How many people do you have in your gunsights in one week? How many warp just when you do?
