Removing swamp tiles
« on: May 10, 2006, 11:51:13 AM »
Hi all, I want to remove the swamp tile and replace it w/the forest tile, I know tiles are segmented into four groups for randimazation but w/out a set of tiles to work from I'm unsure which are which, anyway can someone give me the tile numbers and in this way I could remove swamp and replace w/forest, I want to do this for the reason that on hills it looks silly having water at an angle, and BTW this is for my MA project, thank you <>

Not only do you need to change in terrain editor cache you must also change the same tiles in the game folders cache under stdshape. Valid question Mustaine, So I wrote to Skuzzy to find out if I need to add ocean areas thanks for the heads up.

Actually you just need to put the .bmp files in the texsrc folder. Any changes to your terrain textures requires clearing the cache in both the game and the TE.

NHawk this might be so if I had the BMP's but there isn't a currant set of tiles I could find, so my changes are to the TCA files and this works just fine, I suppose I should have been more clear. Also if I had the BMP's I wouldn't of needed to ask what the tile numbers were, thanks again though

Open any terrain in the TE and click "Save Textures". You now magically have all of the terrain textures, including the alphas in the "savedtex" folder in your terrain. :)
