Low Axis Numbers

In an effort to help keep the numbers somewhat even, my squad will fly Axis next frame in Channel Dash.  This last frame seemed to be to one sided.  I believe due to low turn out.  I hope that won't be the case for Channel Dash.  It looks to be a fun frame for both sides.   All!

One thing I suspect is that some squads attendence is dependant on assigned ride or objective. Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong though.

It would take someone going back 9 frames or so and have commitment and orders to prove anything. And I'd hate to see a heavy hand come down just when FSO is getting the numbers up over all.

So I ask that COs please fix the problem internaly. If your squad seems to fluctuate widely in numbers, then lower your commitment to somthing that can be consistent.

We upped our commitment a few mons ago and made the min some times and had to loun out the excess at other times. I know how it is. But when our FSO CO goes back to the MA and says "I need 2 more" it is considered a direct order from our MA CO. A promise is a promise.

Keep in mind that this is coming from an XO that missed 2 of the three frames. But it was RL not prefference that ruled.

LongDist the squads are moved every 3 weeks. Some switch side, some stay the same. The Admin CM balances the sides prior to each event according to their committed numbers. Of course it is not a perfect formula due to low turn outs or high turn outs. Check out this thread LongDist

You can see that the low and high end of the Allied and Axis sides were within 5 pilots. Pretty sad to see it being 50 pilots off. Just after we rolled (last night) it was 143 Allied and 107 Axis. Boils down to C.O.’s and X.O.’s being on top of it with their squads. If they know their squad does not like flying Axis they NEED to lower their committed numbers prior to the event.

It is one of the toughest jobs to do, balancing the sides.  If you add a few more Axis squads and they get a good turnout, you end up with the Allied side in trouble.

I prefer to go 50-50 and depend on the participants to show up.  If they do not, there is nothing we can do about it.  That is also why I always ask squads to confirm their numbers prior to choosing sides.
