Saw the remake of the Posidon adventure last night in an IMAX theater.
Movie wasnt GREAT but it wasnt bad.
Dont see it in IMA though. While some of the effect is pretty cool Most of it is roughly the same as trying to watch a movie and standing about 6 inches from your TV screen. Simply too hard to follow everything especially in the closeup shots
I think that if your going to see a movie in IMAX its going to have to be specifically designed to run on IMAX.
The potential is there. and done right would work great. As films filmed specifically for IMAX thaters are pretty damn cool
But standard movies arent currently done to use the IMAX technology to the best effect
Frther out shots and someofthe surround effects are cool.
But the effect is uterly ruined with two people talking, You can look at and see one, but not the other.
You can also get quite dizzy from shots that are panned quickly.
More then once I felt a bit lightheaded from some of the camera shots zipping around back and forth
