Remember when most reasonably priced monitors only displayed resolutions over 640x480 using an interlaced mode?  Man that sucked.

I mention it because I recently found an old monitor manual and tucked into the tech specs pages that list every single calibrated refresh rate, resolution, and video mode, I found a printout of an xconfig video/monitor configuration file that I made by hand.  It took me a week of research and fiddling with display modes to make it work, but I didn't burn down the house and in the end I could run xwindows in 1024x768x16bpp and it was far crisper than any standard preset mode under windows.

Those were the days, and thank goodness I don't have to do that again :)

I'm pretty sure you don't have it Nilsen :)  It was a 14" packard bell purchased in 1994, long gone by now.

Besides I tossed it out after finding it because I was doing spring cleaning.

i remember when skates had keys.

it took 5 minutes for the TV to warm up. and it was B&W.

we played baseball without adults to tell us the rules.

a deck of playing and clothespins made my bike sound like a motorcycle.

i had a paper route, and a dog to help me deliver 'em after school.

saturday morning i had the TV to myself... and there were cartoons on.

*sigh*
