That's 'cause they only copied the throttle design from ThrustMaster...the stick they designed themselves.  ;)

I'd take that split throttle over an X-52 or a TQS any day though.

I have an old stick that looks remarkably like that one.  It is an old Suncom Raptor.  It was gameport as well.  I used to love that stick prior to my CH.  Hehe, felt "good in the palm."

CH analog gear works just fine in XP.

The connectors look like D-25 old time serial port connectors or parallel port.  Definitely too big for 15 pin gameport connections.

The X52 stick is too big on top. 4 buttons, 2 hat switches and a rotary spread out too far to use with ease. Things start going wrong when you try to switch views in a rudder turn. I've unintentionally dropped ord more than once doing that.

I'm not sure they're interested. These sticks aren't built for gaming. Probably one of those, "If you have to ask, it's too much for you" kind of things.

Seriously wow!

Damn...of course they are many reasons why those are like they are and normal consumer products are like they are. As I'm strugling with dying pots myself right now...damn I wish normal pc joysticks would be like that!

Ahhh but they will work in XP...spent a year asking questions researching and going without AH until I stumbled assfirst into  away to get Speedkeys and CH gear to function in XP.

Look into the use of hall sensors. I have them in my Uber-II-NXT modded Cougar.

These guys came out with one a couple of years ago that was a direct copy of the Cougar. Then there was a guy posting on the frugalsworld forums about getting them (those shown here in the pictures) built for gaming uses but supposedly the man who runs HIREV wasn't going to do it if people started fussing about the products.

Read this thread and make your own opinions.
