Would-be paper dart thrower banned from Parliament

A would-be paper dart thrower was chased around the public gallery by security guards and wrestled to the ground at Parliament today after disrupting MPs' question time.
Parliament's security manager Casey Costello said a security guard had spotted the man in the process of folding a paper dart while sitting in the public gallery during question time this afternoon.
The missile was confiscated, but the man, grinning madly, then vaulted over the barrier into the press gallery, startling reporters, before being escorted out of the room by security guards.
Ms Costello said the man became "a bit aggressive and disruptive" in the lobby, and was taken into police custody.
He was issued with a trespass notice, banning him from Parliament and its grounds for two years.
"It's unlikely that he would have been issued with a trespass notice for just throwing a dart," Ms Costello said.
"But it was his attitude afterwards that was not acceptable."
It was not known whether the man would be charged with any offence.
