O Brother, Where Art Thou?...Just saw it on DVD
« on: August 20, 2001, 10:02:00 AM »
I just saw this movie on DVD, and I thought it was great, but then again, I like Joel Coen's previous works (Raising Arizona, Fargo, The Big Lebowski).

If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it!

Plus the soundtrack is simply awesome.  I went and picked it up after I watched the film.  I recommend it as well.

One of my favorite lines from the film.....We thought you was a T O A D!

Hehe...almost forgot...."Oh no George, not the livestock"

"WE'RE ON A TIGHT SPOT!"

hehe, great movie. a nice conversion of Homer's original work. I really enjoyed it. In my mind, his best movie was The Big Lebowsky.

Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".

I loved the pace, the music and the humor.  I bought it on DVD the first day it was available.

I do find it humorous that my favorite actor in the movie is actually a director.  He claims they wanted someone with no real acting experience for the part.

I grew up in Tulsa with Tim Nelson (the guy who played the dimwitted Delmar).

The guy is brilliant (Julliard grad) and has directed several serious films (some have yet to be released).  Check him out on IMDB.com.

He's also the only one of the three stars who actually sang on the soundtrack.

I just saw it last night.  That was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time.

Gonna get it on DVD when the next paycheck arrives  :). Saw it in the cinema when it came out and loved....IMO, far better than the Big Lebowski. (which I think is the weakest of the Coen Bros films)
I have yet to see Aniki by Kitano Takeshi..also on the shopping list  :)
