Even thinking of them as rats doesn't help because in the end, if the proposed legislation gets passed, in the next few years there will be a few million new citizens who don't speak english and who just learned the lesson that if you break the law long enough and cause enough trouble while refusing to even TRY to integrate as an "American", the government will eventually give in just to appease them.
That's a few million new "non-American" (by their choice) citizens who became citizens only because our government decided that following federal laws is for suckers.
Maybe a few million people should refuse to pay taxes for a few years, and then march on washington demanding the right to continue breaking the law when the IRS threatens action. Now that congress has demonstrated a willingness to roll over and give amnesty, it ought to be pretty easy for a few million tax avoiders to earn a law giving THEM amnesty too.
With illegals claiming the "right" to have drivers licenses, social security, free health care, voting, etc., and congress caving in to the demands, maybe we all should claim more rights. I personally want the right to prescribe my own medication, because my back is KILLING me. The fact that it would be illegal and I haven't taken the required steps to earn the right to prescribe medication is apparently now just a mere technicality to be overcome by a few years of persistantly breaking the law and a protest or two.
Come to think of it, there are a lot of privledges I'd like to have the "right" to have, so maybe I should just start ignoring laws now. Because the sooner I start ignoring laws, the sooner congress will give me amnesty.
