in every plane i have ever flown - i have never been at the controls of anything with even 1/3 the power of a spit1 so this probably doesn't apply too much - full flaps is like an anchor & you do drop out of the sky.
they all have a similar effect using the flaps, lift is added by the 1st 2 notches (up to 20 or 25 degrees), but the next ones only add drag and they add a lot of drag.
maybe straiga can pitch in with how it works for real warbirds.

"Kweassa also when using the 5th notch flap on the 38 now its like attaching an anchor to the plane."

Isn't that what it is supposed to do, I don't think the flap indicator is some  tighter ->more tight -> very tight -> super tight ->UBER TIGHT meter. :D

Yes, i'm sure he can :lol

@Kweassa: While your thought looks worth testing, from memory i'd say that there is no noticeable difference between pre- and post patch P-38 in regular flight conditions.

That means for a low to mid-G pullup I need the same (joy)stick deflection on my end as before, also roll performance vs my stick movement did not change with that patch.

It's only when near or entering a stall that there is a noticeable difference. Of course, this doesnt rule out your theory, but i think a change in elevator pitch vs stick travel would be noticeable in all aspects of flight.

Hi Lazerr!

Dont have much time to play of late :) and im addicted to WW2OL ground combat (air is still a joke). I heard HTC had nerfed the 38 and I thought to myself 'no way...'

and it was true. Luckily they fixed the flap drag a couple of days after i tested it and now its rather nice. Not as manouverable as before though...what the heck did they do? Feels like they hung a 2000lb cow to each wing.

It's all in your head...the P-38 wasn't nerfed.
