Flight Stick Calibration Bug in Ver 2:08??
« on: June 01, 2006, 08:12:44 PM »
I believe there is a bug in flight stick calibration in Version 2:08.  I have to constantly calibrate and recalibrate my flight stick before completing a sortie.  I did not have this problem before today after downloading version 2:08.   I have the CH Fighter Stick, Pro Pedals and Pro Throttle USB set-up.

Is this why autopilot wont hold? I have same setup but I did not try to calibrate. I use Windows XP X64 and cant use Control Manager to increase deadband. I thought Aces High was good enough for this.

CC what happened to the settings and deadband part of the controls????????
It's been said we have three brains, one cobbled on top of the next. The stem is first, the reptilian brain; then the mammalian cerebellum; finally the over developed cerebral cortex.  They don't work together in awfully good harmony - hence ax murders, mobs, and socialism.

Thats not the only problem people. The main priority is control mapping!

I played with deadband and dampening and even with the stick lagging way behind input the autopilot would not hold.

Exact same setup here. Not having any of these problems so I think yo need to investigate further. It's not an incompatibility between 2.08 and CH.

Clifra  do you use the CH Control Manager?  I ask because I am suspecting that may be my problem.

All my calibratio problems disappeared once I uninstalled my Joysticks calibration software and then calibrated it using windows and in AH2.

I use a Siatek Cyborg.

Ahhh HAAAAA.................

Don't use anything but windows and AH here.

Thinkin the software provided by the makers of the flight gear may be the problem all are having?

The only thing that didn't get converted was the stick, throttle and rudder axis in the mode 2 or stickset 2.  Mode 1 or stickset 1 was exactly as it has always been in AH.  It even kept my damping and deadband settings.

Set those axis in mode 2 or stickset 1 and so far NO PROBLEMS!

Yes I do. I use 2.10. I know there is a 4.x version but I'm kind of a "if it ain't broke" kinda guy.

I user a combined profile where all controllers are seen as 1 controller by AH. Everything imported fine except the obvious weapons selection. Had to set that up manually but I use a Keyboard map to Backspace for that. Just had to map it in AH.

The only other thing I had to do was copy Stick Mode 1 to 2 & 3. The only difference between my modes is how the fire options are. I use a shift option in CM(pinky button).

Mode1: Trigger=Fire All, Shift Trigger=Fire Secondary
Mode2: Trigger=Fire Primary, Shift Trigger=Fire All
Mode3: Trigger=Fire Primary, Shift Trigger=Fire Seconary

It was easy to set this back up.
