joining the main arena
« on: June 04, 2006, 08:16:21 PM »
Wnever i try to join the main arena it just takes me back to the log-in screen. The ping's for all the servers arent there either, it just shows ---.  When I do ping details it shows my computer sending packets but not receiving any! I have no clue as to what is causing this seeing as the only firewall i am using is the windows one.  I was able to get on before the patch but not after.  Any help would be apprecated.

thnx,
Cpeter

Shut the firewall off and try again.  Once you have the game running, then turn it back on.

I am having the same problem, I tried to turn off my fire wall, and still no joy. Are there any other thoughts on what the problem might be?

Depends on your firewall.  My instructions are for a simple one like Windows integrated firewall.  If you are using a newer Norton or MacAfee firewall, you may not be able to shut it down (even though they SAY you can).

All I use is the Windows Firewall and I disabled it. Any Ideas on what else it could be.

Can you show us a route trace to the HTC server?  Maybe its a internet problem, and Skuzzy can pinpoint where the problem is and send em nasty mail.  :)  Or if it shows nothing, at least we can rule out internet related.  Seems weird though that it would happen at the same time as the patch.  I know I'm overlooking something but the brain isnt engaging all the gears right now.

How would I show a route trace? I slow when it comes to CPU's.  All of my other internet functions are working fine it is just with AHII. But I'll try anything you can think of.

To trace HTC, either use a software like Pingplotter (free) or bring up windows command line (START > RUN > cmd) and type ping IP-addy. Post the results here.

IP addys are:

Main Arena Server Address: 206.16.60.39
All other arenas: 206.16.60.38
21 is only half the truth.
