This brings to mind the story about an enterprising VF-17 pilot who offered to ferry a brand new TBM to the forward airbase in the Solomons. He figured you could get a lot of booze in the bomb bay of a TBM. Unfortunately he flew too close to a bypassed Japanese island on the way there and got shot up by an AA battery. The plane was considered a write off once he landed. IIRC most of the booze survived. I like a happy ending.

As for the time, it does not take long to knock them out one once the basic template is done. I'll do an hour or so 3 or 4 evenings a week and an occasional blitz on a day off.
