Even better, sneak a peak at the interface for it:

This looks like it could be way more than just something to send to Africa.  Anyone read Diamond Age or Enders Game?  They've got some pretty fantastic ideas.

For instance, the integrated mesh networks, so any nearby laptops automatically make their own collaboration setup for working on problems together.  This is such an obvious thing that seems like it could revolutionize classroom work, or at least something like it.

Yep just what 3rd world countries need, a cheap laptop. Forget that food stuff, just give the kids a cheap laptop and a wireless connection so they can google food pictures instead of eating something. I think they need to send a bazillion of them to Somalia right away to help out the crisis there. Lives will be saved, think of the children!!!

I had an idea once on how to solve all the problems with hunger in Ethiopia.  Besides carpet bombing.

Send in crates filled with McDonalds gift certificates and fast food coupons from the newspapers.

Nobody liked it.  :(
