Simple - a carrier is a field just as any other. Look on the map - a field in the middle of the ocean is likely to be it. Select it, don't forget to step on the brakes before gunning your engine and then let go .

Try double-clicking on the carrier in the map on the "select" screen.  Carriers have numbers that are multiples of 5, i.e. 5, 10, 15, 20.

Straffo, try a forward slip on landing, i.e. almost full rudder in one direction and ailerons in the opposite direction.  This will help you see the ship even when you have a very high angle of attack.

Full flaps of course.

You can also hit "u" on most of the planes to open the canopy and lean out the side on landing.

The main thing is to remember that power controls altitude and the stick controls airspeed.  This is especially important for landing on a CV.

Perhaps the easiest one to start with is a b17, 10% fuel.  circle around; as you transition from base to final go tot he bombardier position (y key) turn off autopilot (x) and land from the glass nose.
