stick not recognized in GV
« on: June 12, 2006, 11:49:47 AM »
OK  Skuzzy or someone else smart please  help me on this.

Stick works fine in plane but dosent seem to be recognized in GV.

GV will not move when stick is pushed forward. (engine on & in 1st gear)

Also when in gun position turret wont turn.

Tried Hammers setup procedures - no help.

Deleted AH completely and re installed.

It worked the first time i tried (gv moved and turret would rotate)

But after a few flights in planes went back to GV  and same problem -
gv wont move & turret wont rotate.

I had no problems till the last patches.

Stick is logitech extreme 3dpro

intel D845pebt2 board
2.53 pent. chip
windows XP pro
512 ram
nvidia ti4200 card

Thanks in advance

Just a wild guess..... did you map mode2 (vehicle)? If yes... did you check the box saying "automatically choose mode"?

Yes tried that with REN helping me but he couldnt figure it out either.  The one time that it worked,   it was in mode1-default.

Haad the same surprise as you....and missed getting out before the VH went down last night. Found I needed to do exactly what Schatzi talked about.

Just FYI --> the function labelling is misleading for GVs. "Move forward" and "move left" refer to CHAIR movement, not vehicle movement.  Even though they're GVs, the "correct" function is "pitch" for moving the tank forward/back, and "roll" or "airelon" (I forget which term is used) for turning sideways. The same functions move the tanks guns up/down and left/right respectively.

Less than 5 miles from my front door....

By the way, now that you've got it working for GVs, recheck the settings for mode 1. Not sure if its a real bug or just something stupid I didi while setting up mode 2, but after setting up the GV controls for mode 2, the rudder and brake functions were lost for mode 1. Didnt find out till I was landing after a long fight that ended with an assist....
