Baseballs new hot topic
« on: June 16, 2006, 12:40:05 AM »
Ok so the hot topic of the week is hitting batter.  Watching these guys on FSN talk about it.  Personally i think it is retarted.  I never ever try to hit a batter.  No need for it.  They show a clip from a couple of games earlier this week.  Some White Sox player got hit.  Then Ozzie told some rookie to hit hank Blalock.  Well he didn't and they showed a clip of Ozzie Chewing him out in front of everybody.  Then right after the game the rookie is sent packing down to AAA.

I never like Ozzie Guillen in the first place but now he is on the top of the dumbest managers ever list.  The Sox need to fire him.

Then Randy Johnson getting ejected.  Ill try not to biased here but i hate Yankee's.  Johnson and Torre made stupid moves. Johnson should be a role model for younger players, pro and the kids in little league.  Hell i knew who Randy Johnson was when i was 5.  What are the younger people going to think when they see an old Vet like him doing something.  The reason he retaliated was beyond dumb.  It looked to me like the pitcher just lost focus and went to far inside.  You know one of those "oh ****!" pitches.  But ill admit this kid looked a little out of control.  But accidents do happen and shouldn't be cause reason for retaliation.

AS you can tell im against this whole retaliation thing.  I don't MLB is doing enough to stop it.  These aren't the old school days anymore.  A Major of people in the US frown upon this kind of stuff and so do I.  MLB needs to thing of a new punishment because a fine and 5 game Suspension isn't working.  Especially for starters who make 5 figures a year.  Same can be said for managers.

ok im done with my rant, discuss.

Compare and contrast the amount of armor worn and the salaries of players today with players of decades past.

Bunch of pansies.

Mackey Sasser: 'Hey Everybody, Look At Me, I Took Steroids—I'm Mackey Sasser And I Took Steroids'
June 15, 2006 | Onion Sports
NEW YORK—Former Mets catcher Mackey Sasser called an impromptu press conference last night to inform the public that he, too, has taken steroids. "Hey everyone, over here, it's me, Mackey Sasser. Remember me? The big fat catcher from the late '80s and early '90s Mets teams? Mackey Sasser. Not Dave Magadan, not Howard Johnson, not Kevin McReynolds—Mackey Sasser. Well, just wanted to let you all know that, believe it or not, I, of all people—me, Mackey Sasser!—took steroids. Yessiree bob, you heard it right, I took steroids. Whaddaya know? Bet you never suspected me. Not in a million years. Mackey Sasser, taking steroids," Sasser said. "I didn't take amphetamines, I didn't take human growth hormone, nope—I took the real thing. Steroids. Took 'em every day. Just thought you should know. Okay, bye." Sasser then told reporters that he would be "standing right over here" if they had any further questions.

Ozzie and Kenny Williams are a couple of morons who got lucky.  Watching the whole thing fall apart will be fun.  Go A's.

in a baseball game you have to have a "bench clearing brawl" every once in a wile to wake up the fans.
