Screen Freeze....
« on: June 22, 2006, 06:59:09 AM »
In mode 1 (flight) my screen freezes when I hit the flap switch. It use to only happens once, some time after hitting switch the first few times and last 5 to ten seconds.  Still getting the sound and when the screen unfreezes, I am where I would have been had the screen not frozen. (like just about to crash).
Last night I was in the TA with Widewing. I had already had the long freeze and thought I was done with it for the night. But I would still get a very short freeze (skip?) sometimes when hitting the flap switch. Not every time, but often.

In mode 2 (ground) the same thing happens when I change gears. In mode 2 I use the same throttle switch for gear changes that I use for flaps in mode 1.
I am using a X52 stick and throttle.  This problem started with version 2.08

Can you make a dxdiag and post it?

My guess would be a sound/driver issue. Is your sound accelleration set to 3/4?

start/run/dxdiag.exe

Sound tab

move slider to the left one notch under DirectX Features "Hardware Sound Acceleration Level"

What does having the acceleration turned up do?  Will it affect anything else to turn it down to 3/4?  I checked and mine is set at full.

I tried it. Set it to 3/4 and it did help.  I still get the screen freeze on occasion though.
