F4U-1D
« on: June 13, 2006, 12:24:51 PM »
Is it just me? Or is the F4U-1D significantly harder to control now?

The moment i drop one notch of flaps even in almot level flight the stall buzzer squeals. The slightest touch on the rudder and it does the same.
ive only had this problem since 2.08-2.008.2 was released

Any ideas?
At the top of a climb i cant seem to roll the plane over using the rudder like i used to.
I'm kinda lost. I'm not sure if its the new way the stick is setup or if its the modeling of the plane.....

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

not sure if it has be altered, but i would say the F4U-D is still one of the most stable stall and flap fighters out there.

F4U is a pretty good secret to keep. Keep the rest in LaLa's and Ponies please, they make good eating.

I think thats the stall buffet sound. Plus, who pays attention to the stall buzzer   I just wait for my plane to snap roll and use the roll rate change my direction. Gotta love rudder's.

Yeh i know its one of the most stable out there etc.. thats why i wanted to get other peoples opinions on the plane.. to see if its my stick setup, me or the plane modeling.

Elixir, I was ondering the same thing. I have noticed the same problem on several planes. When ever i get around 200 mph controls go to crap. I use a X52, how about you? I'm not sure if it is flight model or controls or what, but it is frustrating.

F4U's Rock !!! the whole set, just make sure if you stall it to keep the bubble centered by using rudders or youll enter a wing over spin, if you center the ball by using the rudders and chop throttle at the top like a 38, the nose drops like a rock, not exactly like the 38 but it still drops quickly as long as the ball is centered and you chop the throttle about 1 second after  the stall buffet starts

just like flying a real plane, u gotta keep the ball centered at slower speed in the corsairs cause of there big radial engines and the torque that they put on the plane, u have to do the same thing with jugs when there slow as well
