funked I will qualify what I said by saying if I wanted a hot rod cheep. For a daily driver I have a Toyota pick-up that is great on gas, reliable, and it nice to drive. LOL don't you just love people that think a bolt on spoiler or a set of plugs are going to make some major difference in how there car performance. I loved it when this friend of mine in high school thought that putting this 750 cfm Holley Double Pumper on his stock '72 olds 350, automatic with about 170,000 miles on it was going to make it faster. He would stand on the gas and black smoke would roll out of the exhaust and it would stink like gas. LOL! When he got the thing up to about 100mph it actually made a difference but until then it just ate gas like a pig. LOL!

Ah.. the zippy little cars.

I'll take the 128 HP/litre the Porsche 911 GT2 is pumping out (462 HP total

).

I can't believe there aren't any < 2.0 litre engines out there that aren't pumping out more. Actually.. after going to the autoshow last week I can. Everyone is going back to the larger gas guzzling engines. I couldn't believe that that virtually every car company's flagship sedan was getting only 18 mpg city and 23 mpg highway. EVERY car company.

Kinda tricky question,,, boils down to 4

The 409,396 the Pontiac 421, and the pontiac 68' 400 Ram air the ram air 400 had 390 STOCK hp's, The 421 ( not sure of the HP's) but the 62 Pontiac Catalina w/ the 421 WAS the fastest production car in the 1/4 mile, YES beat out the Hemi cuda and 62 corvette by less than .1 second ( define Production)... the 409 and the 396 ( oval ports) the 396 I believe had more HP's than cubic inches, so THAT maybe your answer, depends on what you ment. Of course we're talking PRE anti-smog.... Right?
