Main Arena calling me??
« on: June 30, 2006, 09:42:22 PM »
I am seeing connections from the HiTech main arena back to firewall on ports 2000 and 2001.

Shortly after this the game loses host connection.

The beacon never comes on and the net status is clean.

Why would the arena be trying to make a connection to my IP?

Thoughts?

From a sticky above "The current port range for all arenas in Aces High is 2000-5000, inclusive, for UDP and TCP. Aces High will use a subset of those ports for all online play."
Just my two cents.
One cent for 2000 and one cent for 2001.
Far too many, if not most, people on this Board post just to say something opposed to posting when they have something to say.

You PC and the Host trade data.  It uses UDP ports 2000 to 5000.  If connection is lost, either incoming or outgoing, both your PC and host will not know this at the same time and will keep trying.  Looks like the host was still looking for you.  This is what I would expect to see.

I have no idea why you would not get a beacon, or net status is not showing this.

It would seem then that incoming ports should be opened and forwarded to the PC.

VOX works.  So what am I missing?  Do I really need to open up those inbound ports?

Yes, but I am assuming this is outbound connections... my pc to hitech.  not the other way around.
