Interesting article on Aghanistan from the Sunday Times. A British journalist with the Paras and the Royal Irish under fire. Her last paragraph I feel is very telling.

You're right, we don't hear about the heroics or the good deeds involving either of these two conflicts as much as we should.  All the bad stuff (wich should be reported as well) creates a very cloudy and inaccurate picture IMHO.

Where'd you see the photos?  I was looking for them but didn't see any links.  Thanks for the post though, this was a good read.

Good read.

Always knew the Afghanistan fighting has been underreported since my son served there and told me of the fights, fights we never heard about here.
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"
