Received my new rifle the other day....Classic Army M15A4 RIS, with 9.6V battery & 300 round mag. Have to say, my friend has the Tokyo Maruia M4A1, a hell of a difference. Great grouping, lotsa ammo, but I'll probably get a mid cap mag.

We're gonna be going up to sequoia in July, there's a nice lookin field out there, & hopefully some nice campin grounds nearby.

The body is full metal, I disassembled & reassembled it, gears are also metal.

Already put 3000 rounds through it, no jams at all.

It'll be fine with metal gears for the most part. It's the plastic gears that strip the second you upgrade your battery that are the devil.

Paintball guns & airsoft guns are the same in that they'll work absolutely perfectly until you absolutely need it. Then they break... but neither are difficult to work on. Haven't run into anything yet that couldn't be fixed in a few minutes with with some allen wrenches and profanity.

edit: look into a solid stock for that. It's a worthy upgrade (was for me). The little V-pack battery just doesn't last after a motor & spring upgrade.

It with the laser housing, used as a battery pack. I have a 3600mAh battery that fits (tightly) inside, but with a little black tape it works great. ill just use the smaller one as a backup.

Will also be selling my angel paintball gun soon.

no i don't play paintball. We've had a bunch of those airsoft guns and they not 2 weeks after we get them and start using them.

Painball was fun back in the day, not sure what it has evolved into today. This whole airsoft thing does seem rather, girlish. I won't say gay or stupid or infantile or whatever because I did like paintballing back in the 80's & pellet gun wars (dirt clods & rocks too) but, how do you know when an opponent is hit? The honor system? We all know honor has gone the way of the dinosaur, at least with pellet rifles there were great big red whelps or blood & with paintball there was the big paint "tag"

Is the draw to airsoft just the realistic looking toy guns? I believe they have paint pellets for the airsaoft don't they? Is that what is being used & if so, isn't that just underpowered paintballing? I really wish someone who enjoys airsoft would explain it too me.

Paintball today in tourney style= "he who can throw the most paint wins".
I still find woods style to be more fun.

As to airsoft can't comment. I'd say with the RoF and FPS they shoot you'd probably know when ya hit the target.

Yep, sponsor whoring has killed the Paintball world. Two "professionals" that played in the "US National tourney a few years back" were pwned in the woods by our group. They were cocky at first, after the first game they realized how much paint they wasted and turned friendlier.

The watermelon they show on ESPN is a joke and takes no skill, just alot of paint.

How would rate of fire or feet per second let you know? O.K. maybe the feet per second what with the red marks...but do airsoft gun rounds hit that hard? I remember one of the last rounds of painball I was in we were playing against the team from our local air base & an arguement broke out between a couple of my partners. One of them shot the other from about three feet away just above the belly button with a .60 cal. gun & it tore a hole in his abdomen about the size of a grown mans thumbnail, granted it was a fresh co2 cartridge & the guys shirt was thin, but it required stitches; can airsoft hit that hard?

I remember the guns we started playing with were crossman six shot revolvers...the actual cattle marking guns used by ranchers on the vaccine counts, at least that's what the small cattle ranches around my neck of the woods used them for. Then the guns evolved & became larger caliber & more powerful; about two generations into the evolution I stopped playing. I guess I have just lost touch with the paintball & airsoft world, but airsoft just seems like it would be closer to running around pointing your finger going *bang-bang* "I got you....Nu-Uh...I got you"

I believe airsoft is chronoed to 290 fps. Some of the them fire very fast.

Lots of .177 cal plastic BBs at 290 fps should sting a lil.

That's the thing, the auto fire in both sports ... you usually just don't get hit just once.

Most airsoft fields let your gun shoot up to 400 FPS, sometimes more for snipers. As to when you're hit, it's the honor system.

Basically Sera means 15 guys running away while you shoot them in the back and they don't feel it.

That's a problem I always had with airsoft... a 400 fps bb still will not get somebody's attention like a 300fps paintball. Add on all the "tactical" gear, helmets, etc... sometimes you have to shoot them alot before they actually realise they're hit.
