I didnt mean you cant post anything, i just didnt want this to become a political debat.  Especially on something like the Iraq war.  Many posts have been made about the war in Iraq, and ALL of them get locked because of heated words between people.  Just didnt want that to happen to this one.  Again, just wanted to show off an e-mail i got, thats all!

I certainly DO expect you to get all prissy and Whaissh when American pride is acknowledged. You have a rough row to hoe. You see it often. You go into The Evil U.S. Empire mode every time you do. It`s pretty funny......pathetic, but funny.
Did you make a special effort to geto the Fourth of July posts? Perfect place for you. lmao

You probably know that Britain also has the substantial military deployment in Iraq, and although we don't have a national day as such

I believe I can rest asured that it doesn`t have to be explained to you that the holiday and celebration wasn`t set up and scheduled recently for the Iraqi war.
Well if your country ever did go the bother to select a day to honor your military, might want to suggest it not be on the Fourth Of July....it`s taken. :rofl

There is no contradiction there.
Like I said you can`t understand American pride. Understanding since you have never had anything even nearing it. The holiday is not to generrate patriotism. That is strongly in place  now as in the past and will continue to be in the future.
That`s why you are in England, posting to a subject  in a thread dealing with the Fourth Of July and we were here celebrating our accomplishments, pride of our country, our appreciation of those before us and those serving presently to insure Old Glory waves proudly.
Having some cold ones, getting together with friends and family, thowing the Q on the grill and in general , celebrating that pride and the very fact that we are proud to be an American is a wonderfull thing indeed. One that you will never experience. You have to be an American to be so fortunate.

"WE" are Americans.

Ya know, I don`t believe there are too many people here who had any desire to rub mud in anyone`s face over the origination of the holiday here. This thread, like the others on the same subject that you found a desire to jump into have nothing to do with you. It`s an AMERICAN subject. AMERICAN pride. You are not.
There is a saying here I`m sure you heard in your short time here that says..."America. Love it or leave it."  You made the right choice. You have to have the pride in this land to appreciate it. Pride in your country in general.
Now..........you can continue on with your more than obvious attempt to get this thread closed as I noticed you very obviosly are attempting in the others, until such time as the whole thing gets Skuzzified.. You can jump in any future threads dealing with American pride and get them closed too if you wish. The thing that you never have been able to even scratch the surface of, is the pride we have in our country. It will never change. Your very presence in these threads speaks for itself. You will just have to deal with it. Sad.
What is eating you has been shown over and over when it comes to the U.S. is your very blaring jealousy of our home and our pride, of you which you do not have.
Lee Greenwood expresses it in a song better than most. It echos the very thoughts of us who are appreciative and proud of the simple fact We Are American.
Deal with it and carry on.

"If tomorrow all the things were gone Id worked for all my life,
And I had to start again with just my children and my wife.
Id thank my lucky stars to be living here today,
Cause the flag still stands for freedom and they cant take that away.

And I`m proud to be an American where at least I know I`m free.
And I wonï`t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I`d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
Cause there ain`t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A.

From the lakes of Minnesota, to the hills of Tennessee,
across the plains of Texas, from sea to shining sea,

From Detroit down to Houston and New York to LA,
Well, there pride in every American heart,
and it`s time to stand and say:

I`m proud to be an American where at least I know I`m free.
And I won`t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I`d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
Cause there ain`t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A."
