Distortion is sound

Hey guys,
    I am trying to use the Mitsu pack, I use to use it in the old AH and I really like it.  But I am getting some wierd distortion / static noise.  Anyone else run into this.  Thanks....

eh...sometimes when i shoot my guns they sound a bit funny, kinda like fuzz...but thats SOMETIMES, not all the time.
is that what you mean?

Mine does it pretty much all the time, really bad with ground vehicles and aircraft as they are fly away.  I have a motherboard that has a built in sound card, I am thinking maybe I need a seperate one, like there is some minor conflict going on that I can not detect.  I can play the sounds straight from the files when I am not in the game and they sound great.  But in the game I get distortion.
