Okay, this is the final version.
I hope it is eventually chosen as the patch
for this scenario event.

The only change I made was to darken the
US insignia blue to better differentiate it
from the sea blue.  I'm going to leave the
wing insignia on the planes and see how they
come out.

The Corsair silhouette was chosen over the
F6F because of its distinctive outline and
its popular association as a preeminent pacific war
fighter.  Overall, I think people are more
familiar with "Baa Baa Black Sheep" than they
are with "Fighting Hellcats". :)

I think that any other changes or edits that need to
be made can best be done by the patch company
artist who will render this art into a vector based
format.

That blue looks more like purple in the u.s. symbol and looks blue on the wing of the f4u.

Other than that, I'd like to buy a few.  And also I'd like to buy one of the Stalin's Fourth, for which I did participate in that senario.

96delta, mind if I ask what it is exactly you do for a day job?  You seem very cretive with computer art.

They will pick the best thread colors to match the design.
I'm sure they won't be picking purple for the insignia
and if they do it can be changed once a proof is provided.
(BTW, they don't look purple on my monitors (LCD and CRT)...
just a very dark blue)

My job isn't IT related.  I just like playing around with
graphics and find that each project I tackle improves
my skills....skills that come in handy for things like this. ;)

Its not really artistic skills either...all I do is combine various
images in photoshop and make a few changes here and there.
Its more just learning to use photoshop than anything
else.  Anyone can do this stuff..(I use photoshop 5.5 and
am very FAR from being an expert)

Glad you guys like the effort!

My hats off to the guys who have gone out of their way to make Operation Downfall so damn interesting. This is my first scenario and definitely will not be my last. I would be proud to have 96Delta's excellent design as the first patch in my collection.

With the scenario ending early, before I pay for a patch run, I'd like to get an idea if there are a fair number of people who want a patch at $2.50 each.

Each of you who wants a patch, could you please say so here?  If there are enough people, I'll continue on as planned.
