What I don't understand is why Axis was short players for all the frames.  We were out #'s 2 almost 3:1.  I don't think it because of absence either.  Just misplacement of the big squads.

being outnumbered makes it that much more fun, especially if ya live through the frame.

I know the JG44 and the LCA enjoyed there run, was a battle from 15 minutes in till the end.

That has NO bearing on the discussion at hand. The RULES REQUIRED the frame CiC fly as Thompson and that did not happen. It is clearly a failure to comply with the established rules for this FSO, and a penalty should be given to the Allies.

Again, I respectfully request a ruling from the CM's on this issue.

listen guys I was to go camping but it seems that are great goverment in NJ did not pass the budget until friday I was going camping and I was going away for the weekend and  thats why we picked deth7 as Thompson. SO I was not going to be there. When we called the state park to see if they opened and they where not. We had to go with Deth7 as thompson because in the orders it states that we send creaton an email and tell him who was thompson.  and we did it , it was to late to change thompson 5 mins before the event when I got there because the email was sent all ready. So stop crying guys we did not break the rules.:D

as stated in rules.
it is his responsibility to assign Lawrence Thompson’s P-51 to another player. It will be the Frame CO’s responsibility to get the name of this player to CRETON.Failure to comply will result in a 50 point penalty

So, aside from the fact that it would have been unfair to both Deth7 and the CM to change back at the last minute when 68KO found out he could make it after all (glad you made it, sorry about the camping trip), 68KO was the one who found Hartmann and followed him untill Deth 7 was on him.  If KO had been Thompson, it would only have happened quicker.  That KO kept Hartmann in sight and vectored Deth7 in for an intercept is all the more awesome.  I didn't have joy on the pursuit, but I followed the whole thing on the radio.

It doesn't really matter who flew Thompson and Hartmann.  The really cool thing was the teamwork involved, on the Knights as a whole for hitting their targets so well, and on the 347th for covering Thompson and coordinating the killing of Hartmann.

WTG 347th, all allied pilots and the same to all our enemies!  That was a really fun OP.

believe me even if KO found him and waited for deth to kill him, KO can't blow out candles on a birthday cake let alone kill hartmann.

68KO restrained himself with great discipline so that his team could most completely fulfill their mission and gain the most points possible.  Instead of getting a kill for himself, which I've seen him do plenty in a 51D, he waited and got Deth7 in for the intercept.

My hat's off to everyone involved in coordinating this shootdown.  I'm only sorry I was in the wrong piece of sky.  I'll fly KO's or any other 347th FG pilot's wing any day.  They are all good and honorable pilots.

I have great film of a perfect reversal I set up on KO... filled his engine, canopy, and both wings with hit sprites... and not a damn thing happened. I hope it at least scared the poop outta ya, KO. :)

Thanks anyway, Doobs... that's the way I understood the orders, too, but truth be told it would not have mattered a bit who was flying as Thompson. My escort had long since disappeared to wherever, the Axis was severely outnumbered flying outclassed aircraft. Let them call it a victory. ;)

[ps. I thought Falcon was to be CO, I put that in my first round of orders... that's where the Falcon/KO confusion comes from. Sorry.]
