TC Over Ride In Cupola
« on: July 09, 2006, 01:48:32 AM »
Greetings,

When in the cupola, the tank commander can turn the turret (either through a control or by directing the gunner through the intercom) without bouncing down inside.

To be able to rotate the turret from the cupola would improve the ability to 'lay' the gun and then move to the gunner's position.

I would like to be able to stay up and watch for planes and/or targets then move the turret prior to bouncing down and hoping I can reacquire the target.

Regards,

I think thats genious, but there is only one forseable problem: What axis are you going to use? Rudder is controling the tank's hull (Cant change that, we use it too much) X axis controls the direction the pintle gun is pointing (Cant change that either) and Y axis is up and down. Now, we CAN use buttons, but, that might not be so effective. Its a genious idea, and may just work, but it would be difficult. I just wish the Panzer IV H's pintle gun rotated 360. Does the gun not cover the left side in real life?

Greetings,

I am not so sure that most Pnzr IVs or Pnzr VIs had the TC Machine Gun......  Maybe we should keep this quiet!

Agree, rudder gots to stay.  Rotating of MG gots to stay.  Could hold down secondary fire button and have stick switch to rotate turret.  Dunno, ain't a programmer.  However, with electrons, there is always away!

Yes, it could work. I have a Saitek X-45 and there are two buttons left and right on the stick (I curently use them for manual trim up and down) but those could be mapped to turret left and right! But i DO think they had pintle guns. I dont know much about the Panzers, i know more about the Tiger and King Tiger (<--- It would be AWESOME to get a King Tiger!!! It would be unstopable by anything but a direct hit with a 100lb bomb!) But I DO think they have pintle guns, though i could be wrong.
