Weathering? That would suggest lousy maintenance.

Oh Canuck mechanics, now I understand.

Polish Mossies were kept bright and shiny.

Nate please change it to 305 Sqn Markings, tail code SM-A, A PAF checkerboard on the nose and the following squadron insignia:

This will be much easier than weathering.

Almost all aircraft produced in all these sims are too "clean"
It would be nice to see some in "wartime" condition

We know the following points.

NATEDOG doesn't like to put the paint peeling on most of planes.
SUPERFLY likes to put the paint peeling any planes.

I like both.

Actually the Mosquito hada smoother skin than the aluminum skined aircraft. Because of its construction it lacked the rivets, and even flush rivets cause some drag.

The mosquitoes I've seen pictures of all have very smooth skins.

Not to mention the fact that Mossies were scrupulously cleaned by their pilots and maintanence crews. A dirty Mossie could lose up to 20mph at altitude due to drag.

Another side-note: There was laways a can of "doping" compound (like a varnish) in the tail area. Standard procedure called for a walk-around the plane before each operational day to apply it to any rough or scrathed areas. When I was a boy my nieghbour served as a Navigator in one, he mentioned how badly crews got poked fun at because of this procedure.

LOL I don't know if its the same sort of stuff that my dad used to use for his RC models when I was a kid, but damn an open can of that stuff could get a whole house stoned.

Not talking about smoothness of the skin, ive seen the Mossie when i was in Ont Canada. They have an extensive museum there.

Im talkin bout the fact that paint peels, leading edges and engine nacles.

Ah. Different kind of roughness.

I have no problems with weathered, worn paint.
