boston raid
« on: July 12, 2006, 04:59:26 AM »
last night my squad  did a  boston raid on knights base 33.
As we flew in they were taking off for   atack on 32 so we hit them head on.
5 sets of bostons with fighter escort still not a match  for the enemy fighters we lined up on our targets  taking fire  from enemy fighters bu still managed  to make our drop.
a couple of hangers went down  and so did ou planes  then we broke  and ran.
I turned  to see my leader Bcool with  a p38  attacking so dived down to help. the whle squad  started mixing it in our bostons putting hits  in to n m e planes  but  not killing any.

as we know the rear guns  are useless, but we still gt some hits with then, finaly i looked behnd  to see five fighters dancing with me.

I twisted and turned  but  the got me in the end.
it was   a fun raid although pretty useless  but did make   achange  form the normal stuff.

i dont think the knights expected  us  to try to turn fight with them

You are lucky to make it to tgt, cuz our B26s  raid on knight HQ last evening was smoked even worst, but was fun.
   we upped 30 x B26s formations(90 bombers) from A26  to HQ 14-15k, was like 12-15 min flight
, 5-6 formations were shoot down soon after  take off by negative frame rates, lol and the rest by all kind of secret wepons of WW2,
was a mess when we got over the hornets nest, A53 the knight Comets base, was fire, pilots screaming, B26s burning and parts ,Me163.me262 all over the sky
None of us made it to drop eggs on HQ,

Salutte,great defence Knights!  :)

could manage only 3 kills because of all the activity with the bombers. I went from normal 60 fps to diving into the bombers with about 15 fps. Rather scary but i was able to pull of the 3.  was a great raid, too bad they couldnt do it again.  lol

Man, musta been the night for it,

I upped as part of a swarming horde of hungry 163s after a 30K escorted B17 mission that musta had 15 or more boxes. I was late off the mark, and even so I saw at least a dozen 163s in range as I took off. I only got one pass and an assist before they were all gone -- but I did get a P-51 to dogfight with me down to 5k or so, where he flew into a mountain making a turn he couldnt quite make....

It was a major good time on our side, and the spectacle of just dozens of fighters, buffs, defenders, at 30k, swirling and burning.....well, it was amazing.

Most fun i had all night, didnt even get a kill.

Too bad we cant run huge missions more often. Even alert the enemy they are coming to make a great fight.

That was some serious fun. I was lucky enough to see the alert call go out on the Knight channel and decided to help out. I took the 163 into combat for the first time ever, along with 10 or 15 other 163’s, a few 262’s and a handful of other (slower) aircraft.

I was even able to get a kill… even more surprising; I somehow managed to land it, too. I ran out of ammo early in the engagement, but continued to make passes at the bombers from different angles in an attempt to draw fire away from the folks who still had ammunition left.

I’m just glad the bomber pilots had a good time, too. It was brutal...
