GV Spawn Pt-Successful Landing Radius
« on: June 28, 2006, 06:13:53 AM »
Hmmm...

Having a problem with this.  We need an option on our map to show the radius around our remote spawns where we can successfully land our kills.  Right now it seems totally random.  I even had a squad mate spawn for me to show me exactly where the spawn point was, he drove off it, I parked my Tiger on it.

You have been captured.

GRRRRRRrrr... :furious

Other times I've ended flight after spawning and rolling down a hill and had a successful landing.  Odd!

May we please have a little circle on our map around the spawn arrows that will show us where to land our gvs (and pt's)?

Thanks!

Warspawn...you are not alone.....

The only time I'll pay for a Tiger is when I'm defending my own base.

At least I know that concrete = successful land.

I've also spawned in a direction I didn't want..*thankyou no map in hanger*  and immediately efluffied...only to show a capture...maybe something to do with nme in the area?

There is not a radius around spawn points to safly exit. It all depends on if there is an enemy near you.

I really have to start filming GV stuff.

That may be the way it's supposed to work, but it doesn't.
1) Exited at enemy airfield with cons around got "You have landed successfully" message.

2) Also had how its supposed to work, ie a ditch or whatever.

3) Strafed Osties turret and 'popped' it, he exits in OUR town, didn't get anything.

Various other combinations of the above.

[edit] The best one - got shot down over enemy field, did the .ef, got a "Kev367th has landed xxx victories" message.

HTC, is there a way to fix the PTs? I've driven a PT  an entire sector away from any enemy and still got the ditched message.

I've successfully landed a PT a few times, but only when I've made it back to a friendly field and run ashore right at the end of a runway that ends at the water's edge.

I assume that if I exit a vehicle with an enemy in range, that they're awarded the kill.

I don't think this is working as intended, since I've exited and been captured immediately after spawning with no enemy around or kill awarded...

I wonder if it wouldn't be easier to have an indestructable hangar out there as a reference, or perhaps a stationary truck/vehicle park to .ef at in order to be sure of success.  Certainly at an of the TankTowns this would be easier, since rarely do you have a situation where there are no enemies around.

Definately NOT working as intended.  Spawned a Tiger at 11:50pm PST from V135 to V136.  Exited flight with NO enemy around me after moving about 100 yrds.  Got ditched message.

Lost perkies...again.

Check into this please?  Frustating and annoying.

hiyas mosq S!

when landing pt's, i've found the only way to land successfully is to:

(1) stay near or even wth your fleet.

(2) throw gear into reverse until completely stopped then put in neutral.

(3) click end sortie.

i've not been able to land pt's unless it is within the cv group.  as for gv's, as long as your near sp and no enemy is around you can land successfully.

If you're in enemy territory and you exit with enemy nearby, you get "captured" no matter what. If you're in enemy territory with an enemy nearby and you've been shot; that's when a kill is awarded.

Having enemy around or not does not make a difference.

Successful landings of a GV are random at best.  I've had successful landings with and without enemy around, and I've had more ditches and captures than anything else, regardless of enemy or not.

I think the point is, regardless of how it is supposed to work, it ain't working that way.

I like to GV, but not being able to consistently land kills is very annoying.  No point in having a perked vehicle if the chance of landing it successfully is random.

Spawn points need to allow successful landings, enemy or not.  You can land your plane and you get a safe landing (as long as you on runway or concrete) no matter what kind of enemy is around.  GV spawn points shouldn't be any different than a runway...other than the obvious fact they are out in the middle of nowhere so you don't have to drive for 3 hours?

I agree. I am VERY bad at GVing, so when i do get 5 or 6 kills, I WANT TO LAND THEM!!! I NEED THE POINTS!!! So it is very annoying when i have to drive so far back i get killed along the way, or going to the very tip of the arrow at the spawn point, and get a ditched message. That just "grinds my gears"

u almost can't land kills if the spawn is near the nme base because a pnzr may spaawn or a tigr is guarding maproom.  Even if u kill him he can spawn again and again and again.  So how can u land in this situation?

also when u say you can't land if a nme is close.  How far is close?
example: 3k?  5k?

Good point! We need dedicated GV landing points. Ive lost perks like that, even though i was ON my freindly V base, all track on the tarmac, 3 kills in a panzer, and it said i ditched!!!
