BM-13.  Stalin's Organ Pipe.  Huge clouds of smoke?  Enable the M3 to rearm it, meanwhile you rain unguided ballistic missiles on Rooks from up to d6 away.

What's not to like?

I like it, though you'd hear whines about "this is teh Aces HIGH game, noob. Not artillery lows ... yadda yadda."

To be truthful though, you likely would find a lot more sides getting rolled up from ground assaults than you do now. Currently, if you shell with a panzer, someone ups a tiger, hop-la bombardment over.

If implemented, air-to-air stuff would lose a lot of importance relative to ground stuff. It would be a ground war with air support and ... ahhh, ... errrm, ...      was going to say something about "real life" ...

I also like the idea of being able to use perkies to up a battery, as opposed to a single gun.
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

BM-13s would be useless against armored vehicles.

Well considering the title of this thread is FIELD ARTILLERY, I gave NO consideration to an anti armor, or anti air role. Thats not the purpose of field artillery.

Well, add some more mobile anti-air and anti-tank stuff.  I know the game is called "Aces High", but let's face it, there's more to the game than planes.  It's about time some more attention was given to that segment of it.  Having more, and better ground alternatives isn't going to break the air war at all.  If anyhting, it will attract more players.

WWII Online was cool from the grunt perspective, but the game overall is miserable.  HT can really make this a WWII sim.

I just like variety.  Flying all the time does get boring after a while.  I like GVing, Fleet gunning, etc.

bring on the "King of Battle !" I was  in field artillery and one minute for a hip shot from a SP is about right,I know it only took 7 minutes for a round down range from a battery from the 82nd once they hit the ground. I wanna say about 2 minutes for a towed unit on the ground. A part of our training every year was  direct fire on moving ground vehicles in case we got over run a good M2 105mm crew could do a round every 10 seconds.

we bring smoke.

field artillery is supposed to blast 4 kinds of things: other artillery, buildings/fortifications, people, and vehicles (which includes tanks, APCs, etc.) you lob a big enough shell into a tank and you will destroy it.
