Spawning vehicles
« on: July 18, 2006, 01:54:09 PM »
I just redownloaded the game yesterday, and I notice that everytime I spawn anywhere other than on the VH itself my vehicle seems to be imbedded in the ground. All I can hear is the engine racing throught the gears and I can't move or get my normal views. Any ideas please?

thanks

Each time I click on a field to go to it I do this "fly by" thing where I am transported from one field to another crossing water and land to get there. Then if I choose to go to the hanger I get the same thing just shorter. Is there a setting where I can change this to the instant way I used to get? I remember this happened to me before but just seemed to fix itself.

thanks

What version of the game do you have (look in upper left corner at startup)?  It should be "Version 2.08 Patch 3".

We removed the animation from the game.  The vehicle bug you have is related to the animation.  In older version there used to be a slider to control this.

I was incorrect and deleted my post.

Pluto is actually an orbiting group of British soldiers from the American Revolution who entered space after Chuck gave them a roundhouse kick to the face.

Skuzzy,

I'm not at home right now but it must be the latest version I downloaded it last night, (Monday 17th July). I did have an older (1 1/2 years old) version on the computer, is there a file or folder I need to delete?

thanks

Did you uninstall the old version before installing the new one?
If not, did you try to install the new version into the old folder?
Maybe you still have the Quicklaunch icon from the old version and used that to start game?

If i were you, id uninstall BOTH versions (in your System Manager/Software) and the delete the both installment folders (uninstall shield leaves the settings intact). If you have settings/sounds or other custom stuff you want to backup, do so first.

Now reinstall the new version fresh.

Hope this helps.

Schatzi, I think you're right. I didn't delete the old version, just downloaded the up to date version and installed it over the old one. I will take your advice and delete them both from the computer and start again.

Thanks
