Having recently been the victim of TG griefing while on a squad night op, I'm making a request for an addition to the current TG command priority system: Add in a function so that players who set up missions originating from TG's can retain command, regardless of their rank, for the duration of their missions. To work I think that would need a few things.
- a duration counter for TG missions with some reasonable, fixed time limit from the time of mission submission that affects only a player's command of a TG. - say 45 minutes or so.
- a mission membership counter so that any mission with less than 2 players has the counter reset to 0 at launch time (so that only command of TGs is affected).
- tie the duration counter to the TG not players or missions, so that only one counter can be active at any time on a TG.
- set a reasonable maximum value for the time difference between submitting a mission and the mission launch time. - say 10 minutes or so.
The way I see this working is a player "A" sets up a mission originating from a TG. This player automatically gets command of the TG when he or she submits the mission and the duration counter starts a countdown from the fixed time limit to 0. No other players can take command of the TG from the player A while the counter is working. At mission launch time, if the mission has less than two players attached command of the TG is lost. If there are two or more attached players command is retained and the count-down continues for the duration. When the counter reaches 0, command of the TG is lost. Players intent on griefing a TG by setting up empty missions to take command of them and intentionally move them into harm's way or out of play only get a 10 minute crack at it and players intent on griefing game play for a group of other players are SOL until the duration counter counts out.
