Absolutely Correct!!

Patron Silver smells like fresh Agave, not like rank swill (read that as anything by Cuervo.. ick.. Talk about gag reflex).

God I love Patron.  My girlfriend prefers I drink vodka though because she says Tequila makes me a little rowdy.  Some of my past posts on the AH forums prove that... When I when from Aces High to the other kind of AH in about 25 minutes

Its got every bit as much knock you on your bellybutton potential as the paint remover that Cuervo calls Tequila.  If you wanna suffer for your buzz, feel free.  I'd rather have something good.

As a matter of fact, I just looked it up and Patron is 80 Proof versus your 'Real Man' Tequila coming in at only 75 Proof  (Cuervo 1800)... Looks like the only pinky lifting Nancy around here is you :D

Son, if I want a drink of water.....I turn on the faucet.
Silver is comparable to buying a new set of tires for your muscle car.............then taking out the valve stems.
Suffer? What you talking bout Willis? Gold is so smooth it can be used in the place of baby oil. :)

Yeah, tastes pretty much like baby oil...  Ok, we agree.  And the Patron still has higher proof than Cuervo... Or baby oil.

Ok, quick Tequila 101 refresher course...

Gold - A mixto, meaning neutral spirits (usually vodka) and food coloring has added. This is the lowest, cheapest class of tequila. This is rotgut.

Silver - Also known as Blanco. Can be a mixto or 100% agave. You have to check the label. This is unaged tequila.

Reposado - Can be a mixto or 100%. You have to check the label. This tequila has been aged at least 6 months in new oak barrels.

Anejo - Not a mixto. 100% agave tequila aged at least 18 months in new oak barrels.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

You're talking Cuervo Gold. It's mixto. If it's 100% agave, I've found that the color is probably a good indication of smoothness.

Whatever it is... look for 100% Agave on the label. If it doesn't say it, it isn't. A mixto can be something like 50% something else. Something else being flavorings, colorings, and neutral spirts which will just make your head hurt in the morning.
