What is a good program to use to re-size images to avatar (64 x 64)...Imageshack doesnt offer such a small size

try ACDsee, you can try it for free and the full version is like 40 bucks.

Do a search, its a great little program.

He's right. ACDSee 5.0 is my default image viewer. You can do large batch resizes quickly and it supports dang near every image format there is. It displays images very fast too.

Irfanview

Its small, free, and incredibly full featured.
Will open virtually any graphics type known. And will do the same for saving including windows icon.

What it doesn't do is create from scratch like paint.
