Yeah they are making Mac with Intel processors now; they can even run Windows I think.

Kind of  like buying a Chevy and finding out it had a ford motor in it.

These were posted on youtube too, there are others by other groups, but this outfit had the best ones I think.

I just bought a mac for work applications after 5-6 PCs.  Somewhere during the XP era, I lost all respect for Microsoft.  I still have my PC gaming machine (the viddy clip was oh so true :)), but I wish I could run it on Windows 2000 (or even 98...or even DOS for that matter...)

LOL...

In my last customer service email to Microsoft (which will never be read), I said that if Microsoft made cars, we'd all be dead.

Seriously, what other kind of company can send you a critical product upgrade every 3 months?  Like buying a car w/o brakes or seat belts...

Smart move imo.. The dual core cpus are looking strong, and in a few weeks im sure we will see macs on core2 with the powermac using two core2 cpus.

Yes.. you can use windows on the intel macs if you want too. You just choose OS when you boot.

All kidding aside, your right it was a smart move, its just fun to tweak Mac freaks tails. I work with one, lol he house is a Mac and Kiss(the band) museum.

I think gateway or HP just started selling PCs with the Dual core CPUS as well.

It is a shame the gaming market has shunned the mac, if not I would own one, hell my next new PC may be one anyway, because I am not going to use Vista.

Howdy guys,

Just a request, on videos like this please attach a "NOT WORK SAFE" etc. label.

Most people probably aren't expecting the first vid to end with a loud, "Dude, STFU."

Thanks

Thats the great thing with thier new boot system that allows you to boot windows or osx depending on what you are going to do. They are just as fast as any "pc" with the same specs.

I think they call it dualboot or some such thing.

I have a G4 powerbook so i cant take advantage of this.

Wasn't Apple claiming that their PowerPC based Macs were faster than Intel based machines right up until they decided to switch to Intel? I may be wrong as I really haven't paid much attention to Apple. My wife really likes her ipod though.

You are correct. They have always claimed that. If you look at it from their angle, add abit of good will and so on they were correct in some respects, but for the most part that was pure marketing gimick. Nobody ever sued them for claiming it so they must have had their claims somewhat in the dry.

The main reason for them to swich to intel was IBMs slow cpu R&D department and Apple jumped ship before the gap got too wide. My dad has an imac G5 with 2 gigs of ram and its really fast, so if the intels are quicker they are superfast.

My next box will not be an Apple simply because the one i have now will be fast enough for many years. I will prolly end up buying a Core2 based gaming/workstation or maybe a core2 laptop. I really miss playing AH

Peep this!

The word "übersexual" (from German über = above, superior and Latin sexus = gender) was coined by the authors the authors of the book Future of Men (O'Reilly, Matathia, Salzman, 2005) as a neologism for a patriarchal conception of masculinity. It is a variant of metrosexual, in that the male is "refined", but contains more of an implication of confidence and traditional notions of manhood than the former term. However the authors of Future of Men argue that the übersexual is not derivative of the metrosexual man. The future of men, proclaim the authors, is "not to be found in the primped and waxed boy who wowed the world with his nuanced knowledge of tweezers and exfoliating creams. Men, at the end of the day, will have to rely on their intellect and their passion, their erudition and professional success, to be acknowledged and idealised in contemporary society. Called the 'übersexual'—a degree of greatness and perfection, an acknowledgment that this is an evolved species of man—he is so perfect as to leave little margin for error and fallacy."

Examples of those who could be defined as übersexuals include George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Jon Stewart, Diddy, Jay-Z and Bono of the rock band U2, or other such liberal men were all named by ad agency JWT as top übersexuals.
