Dhaus, no apology neccessary. >S<
As for the HMk1.... PATIENCE is the very key. You cant control a fight in it, you have to rely on the opponent(s) to play YOUR game. But its always their choice, not yours.
You not only need patience while fighting, you need to STICK with the Hmk1 for a while. I *forced* myself to fly it EXCLUSIVELY - no matter the circumstance - for one tour.... that did it. And trust me, the first weeks i was ready more then once to just throw in the towel and say *screw it* - but after i landed the first two kills i was hooked.
Fly in target rich enviroments... if there are too many friendlies close, you have people continuously "helping" you and end up with a lot of assists or nothing. Killing in a HMk1 takes time. No quick snapshot kills - you need tracking shots at d200 or closer and STAY there for some time. Outnumbered about 2-3 vs you is the usual.
Dont get too much alt, doesnt help much anyway.... more then 10K is overkill, usually 5-7 K is plenty.
If you are a little higher then the con, dive in and hope he goes into SplitS-evasives and/or starts turning. If you are slower, show them your butt, let them dive in and at d1.5 - d1000 (depending on opponent speed) start a slow breaking turn..... tighten it as the guy closes in, always staying *just* out of his lead shot.... sucker him in and when you see the overshoot (preferrably at about d400) go vertical and roll up and over onto his tail (barrel roll kind of move).
