Before I even attempt this, can you take the xisting maps and modify them for use in the 8 player game.

Any map running in htc's arenas becomes the property of htc.  Any H2H map remains the property of  the builder.  To edit any of them, you need the owners cooperation to get the source files.

If you created the terrain, launch the TE and the last one you worked on will load.  You can also use Open to open one of you previous .oba files.

In other words james, no you cant. The terrain files you are playing on are ".res" files. You need the maps ".oba" file and much much more to get anything off of that terrain. So, if you only have the finished product, you cant use that to "load" the terrain into the TE.
