Well son of a monkey
« on: August 01, 2006, 12:08:53 AM »
Some jackahooch with his Chevy 1500 must not have had a transmission service for 100,000 miles, talked about disgusting, burned fluid.  And now I smell like it.  It's gonna take 40 showers to get the stench off.  Almost as bad as diesel.

Just my rant for the night.  Cheers!

If it helps, that jackahooch will be buying a new tranny in a month.

Ahhhhh ...cheer up. It could have been worse.
Tranny fluid....not a prob. It could have been hydraulic fluid.
One drop of hydraulic fluid can cover at least 100 square ft. :)
It will withstand hurricanes.

I got a neat chemical burn from hydraulic fluid from T-37 brakes...  My break cylinders were leaking a bit so I wiped a drop off with my gloves before we left the chocks to see if was an active leak.  Over the course of the flight, the drop soaked through and messed up my finger.  I ended up with a 1/2 by 1/2 patch of thick whitened skin on that spot for about 2 years and the skin is still thicker in that spot than it should be.

You are corect Jackal, what was I thinking!?

Sounds like a fun time, I don't think any of our chemicals will cause burns like that Egle, maybe they will but we wash relatively fast 3 hours max probably.

Somewhere, off in the distance, I hear the sound of laughter.

It's Mike Rowe.

He's unimpressed.

nirvana,

I suspect either I'm allergic to the stuff or my skin is just sensitive to that particular chemical.  Like some people get huge red rashes from gasoline exposure but the worse I've ever gotten after soaking my hands in the stuff for a couple hours (cleaning bike chains and other stuff as a kid) was a little bit of dry skin.

I hear gasoline will kill your liver after repeated contact with your skin as it enter straight into the blood stream.  And used oil is carcinogenic, cuasing skin cancer after repeated and prolonged exposure.  Good stuff.
